On February 3, 2026, Webster Financial Corp entered a Transaction Agreement for Banco Santander to acquire it, consisting of a merger into a subsidiary followed by a share exchange. Shareholders will receive 2.0548 Banco Santander shares plus $48.75 in cash for each share of Webster they own.
