On December 31, 2023, Petrobras announced the start of operations for the Sepetiba platform vessel in the Mero field, capable of producing 180,000 barrels of oil per day and compressing 12 million cubic meters of gas. This platform supports the goal of increasing efficiency and facilitating carbon capture to reduce emissions, adding to Mero's current output of 230,000 barrels and 15 million m³ of gas daily.
