BATA India Ltd. has disclosed a demand order for imposition of tax/penalty by Deputy Commissioner of State Tax, Patna, Special Circle, totaling Rs. 0.48 Million including penalty, for FY 2017-18 due to claimed input tax credit on supplies from a vendor who has not deposited taxes and interest liability associated with reversed ITC has not been discharged. The company believes it has a good case to defend without any material financial impact.
